Congratulations and Well Done!
On 11 July 2025, the prestigious 30th Anniversary Certificate presentation ceremony of the Malaysia Book of Records (MBOR) was held at One World Hotel, Petaling Jaya, Selangor. The event was officiated by YB Puan Teo Nie Ching, Deputy Minister of Communications.
The Centre for Research and Field Management (PPPL) was invited to receive a certificate of recognition from MBOR for a remarkable achievement recorded in 2022.
Record for the Largest Simultaneous Clownfish Release
Through a collaboration between PPPL and the Institute of Tropical Aquaculture and Fisheries (Akuatrop), Universiti Malaysia Terengganu (UMT) successfully released 1,270 clownfish simultaneously into the waters of Pulau Bidong. This historic event earned UMT a place in the Malaysia Book of Records for the category of “Largest Simultaneous Clownfish Release.”
This achievement places UMT among the 91 recipients recognized in conjunction with the 30th anniversary of MBOR.
Also present at the event was Datuk Seri Dr. Michael Tio, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Malaysia Book of Records, who is also an Honorary Doctorate recipient in Management from the Faculty of Maritime Studies, UMT.
This unique record has been featured in the special edition of the 30th Anniversary Malaysia Book of Records, marking an extraordinary milestone in marine conservation and aquaculture research in Malaysia.
