“To encourage the sharing of state-of-the-art equipment and improve the quality of high-impact research, we will provide facilities through a Centralized Laboratory (MB) approach. The basic goal of MB development is to enable UMT to provide advanced and expensive equipment that can be used by all researchers at UMT in a more effective, cost-effective and well-maintained manner. Such a laboratory can eventually be upgraded to become a National Laboratory and expand its use for national scientists. The concept of a centralized laboratory will be expanded to include Off-Campus Research Stations. At the initial stage, the Bidong Island Research Center, the Setiu Bancah Soil Research Center and the Ship Unit (Research and Teaching Port) will be placed under the management of MB”.
